Ring of Fire 2021: What You Need To Know

This could be a very busy July 3rd, 2021 on Conesus Lake!  Many visitors did not come down to Conesus Lake for the Annual Ring of Fire in 2020.  Last year in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, people were understandably leery of going anywhere, lakeside gatherings were cancelled or minimal, parks were closed, and some fireworks displays put on hold.

Most of us are looking for a more normal summer season this year.  The great news regarding eased COVID restrictions in New York State, has most of us very excited and pumped-up for this year's Conesus Lake Ring of Fire!  But hold on.....  There are things you need to know before making your plans.

Conesus Lake Home Owners Flares

If you are a member of the Conesus Lake Association and expect them to deliver flares to your residence, that is not happening this year.  The CLA will be providing flares, however you must pick them up.  The pick up location will be at the Lakeville Training Grounds at 5939 Stone Hill Road, Lakeville, NY 14480.  Members receive 2-4 free flares, additional flares and flares for non-member are $2.50 each.  The CLA encourages a completed check or exact change.  Here are the pick up dates and times:

  • Friday, June 18th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM
  • Saturday, June 19th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
  • Saturday, June 26th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
  • Sunday, June 27th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
  • Saturday, July 3rd from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM

Fireworks Displays

Despite popular belief, none of the surrounding lake towns facilitate fireworks displays on Conesus Lake.  Fireworks displays on the lake are put on by lake residents.  You'll find all kinds of incredible fireworks displays all around the lake, with many professionally executed. (Plenty of amateurs out there too!  Be careful!) The most notable fireworks display can be seen on Pebble beach Road area of the lake, located on the lake's northwest corner.  This annual display is put on as part of a private, non profit event called Conesus Fest.  Learn more about this great charity event right here.

Public Park Information

Vitale Park in Lakeville is traditionally the most popular park for Ring of Fire celebrations on the lake.  Unfortunately the park will be closed the 3rd of July, 2021, according to the Town of Livonia.  Geneseo's Long Point Park on the west side of Conesus Lake has not indicated that it will be closed according to the town website.

Boating

There's nothing like The Ring of Fire by boat on a beautiful July evening.  Obviously July 3rd is one of the busiest boating days on the lake.  Conesus Lake has one New York State boat launch, located at 5030 East Lake Road, Livonia, NY.  If you plan to launch on and off on July 3rd, be prepared for much longer than normal wait times. Vehicle entrance fee is $6.00.  Public restrooms and charcoal grills are located on the Marine Park Premises.

Real Estate

The best way to enjoy the Annual Conesus Lake Ring of Fire is from your own beautiful waterfront property.  Conesus Lake inventory is low right now, but feel free to sign up for listing alerts to be the first of any new listings that hit the market on the lake.
