The Beachcomber of Conesus Lake, Offering Year Round Fun!

Along West Lake Road on Conesus Lake is a hidden gem.  Hidden behind a row of hotel room doors is The Beachcomber of Conesus Lake. It is located at 5909 West Lake Road, and it has quite a history!  The now Beachcomber was built in 1929 and was formally known as Peg's Point. At that time it was a gas station and grocery store with an "unspoken" Speak Easy hidden below.  After surviving prohibition, it was made a tap room and restaurant in 1933.  In 1952, it was purchased and named The Beachcomber. Over the years it saw many owners and many changes.  Gone are the days of the Go-Go-dancers and monkey in the bar area and the now Cabana being used for boat storage.  In 2005, Tom and Mary Alice May bought the property and made extensive and much needed improvements to the buildings.  They made the decision to keep The Beachcomber open year round, making it a favorite hot spot for locals and travelers alike! Tom works as the executive Chef and Mary Alice handles the catering, banquets and day to day activities.

The Beachcomber offers indoor and outdoor dining, casual and fine dining, a beach, a bonfire pit, docks, outdoor seating and live entertainment!  During the spring and summer months you can join a volleyball league or play corn hole, listen to a band or just enjoy time with friends around the bonfire. The Beachcomber also features a 40' indoor/outdoor bar in the Cabana and offers games such as pool and darts.  You can order from the outside grill and eat at one of the many outdoor picnic tables or pull up your favorite beach chair on the sandy beach.  The indoor restaurant gives hints to the prohibition era and offers inviting dining and great food.  The bar and restaurant is the only one left from more than 20 in the area from the prohibition era. There are guest rooms available as well. Each beautifully renovated room giving spectacular views of Conesus Lake.  In the winter months, The Beachcomber remains open, offering fine dining, catering, fishing derbies, a Winterfest in January, A yearly, huge Halloween Party, St. Patty's Day Party, A Polar Plunge and so much more!!

Something new for The Beachcomber is their "Sunday Funday".  Featuring a new take on Bloody Mary's!  Each Sunday is different, but you can't go wrong when your Bloody Mary becomes a meal!!  :) They are also having their yearly Mother's Day Celebration.  Choose from brunch or dinner on May 13th.

Check out their Facebook Page, Beachcomber of Conesus for all their upcoming events and celebrations!  And remember, The Beachcomber isn't just a bar and restaurant.  They do catering, hold weddings, rent boat slips and keep the fun going year round!
