Life in Beautiful Livingston County

Livingston County is a bustling community made up of 17 great towns, including: Avon, Caledonia, Conesus, Geneseo, Groveland, Leister, Lima, Livonia, Mount Morris, North Dansville, Nunda, Ossian, Portage, Sparta, SpringwaterWest Sparta and York. The County was formed on February 23, 1821 and named after New York's first Chancellor, Robert R. Livingston, who also helped draft the Declaration of independence and negotiated the Louisiana Purchase.  The current population is estimated at 64,717.

Livingston County is home to two Finger Lakes, Hemlock Lake and Conesus Lake. Hemlock Lake is located south of Rochester and is virtually undeveloped. Fishing is abundant and visitors can enjoy kayaking and small craft boating. The wildlife is plentiful and can be easily enjoyed in Hemlock Lake's unspoiled atmosphere. The idyllic scene will take your breath away.

 Conesus Lake is located 25 miles south of Rochester, NY and is the westernmost Finger Lake. Life on Conesus Lake can be exciting, active and often serves as a summer respite for families from all over. Owning a home on the lake isn't a necessity to enjoy it, but it is a dream come true for many! And with prices ranging from $200K to $700K, there are homes available for everyone!  Lake Life is beautiful too.  Imagine waking up to a gorgeous sunrise made up of colors you thought you would only see in books or sitting on the lake in your boat watching a breathtaking sunset made even more beautiful by the rolling lake beneath it!  Summer offers many opportunities and things to do on Conesus Lake.  From summer concerts on the lake to boating and fishing, there is something for everyone! Want to just get away for the week?  Rentals are available year round, but really kick up during the summer months.           

                       

Livingston county as a whole is a wonderful place to live.  It's home to Letchworth State Park, "The Grand Canyon of the East", Stony Brook State Park and so many more! You can spend the day at one of the many festivals, go for a hike at one of the amazing parks or play a round of golf at one of the many courses!  Antiquing is a favorite pastime in the county, as well as wine and brewery tours.  Want to go camping?  Your covered with campgrounds from one end of the county to the other!

So get over the winter blues quick this year and head out to one of Livingston Counties beautiful Finger Lakes and enjoy the excitement..... or calm, whichever way you look at it!
