The area is the largest wine producing region in the Eastern half of the United States and has continued to grow since the early 19th century. Summer will start to fade away and the days will become cooler.  With that however, are beautiful trees turning all shades of red, orange and yellow and vibrant pumpkin patches popping up everywhere. It's the time of year for fall festivals and farmer's markets in the Finger Lakes. When the Western Finger Lakes Region is referenced, most people think of Canandaigua Lake, south of Rochester, New York.  Others may know of Conesus Lake, the Region's Western most Finger Lake.  Not many are familiar with Honeoye Lake nestled in the hills in between.  Honeoye Lake is considered one of the "minor" Finger Lakes located west of the "major" lakes of the Finger Lakes region, along with Conesus Lake, Canadice Lake and Hemlock Lake.

Just walk outside and take in that clean, crisp, fresh air!!  Ahhh!!!  There's nothing more revitalizing than the Autumn air in the Finger Lakes region.  As September nears its end, we find ourselves in the area's Wine making prime time.  This is the time of year when thousands trek out to the Finger Lakes region to explore the many wineries, orchards, and flat out beautiful scenery.  Fall festivals are everywhere,  wine tour buses are packed, and cider stands & pumpkin patches are common on the...

Hey:  We're Really, Really Close!!!!

As a Buffalo native, I was very familiar with friends and family who took excursions to the Finger Lakes on a regular basis.  Whether that trip was a family vacation to a lakeside summer cottage for the week, a day trip to a specific destination or a weekend wine tour adventure with friends.  Most of these trips were to the big Finger Lakes like Cayuga, Seneca and Kueka lakes, which were up to a 3 hour car ride from Buffalo.
