Ice Fishing on Conesus Lake

It's "Offishal", Ice fishing has become more than it was in the days of Grumpy Old Men!  It has become a favorite winter sport for many on Conesus Lake. Gone are the days of sitting around on five gallon buckets all day long just to come home with nothing. New technology has brought ice fishing out of the past. When you live in a winter climate like here at Conesus Lake, Honeoye Lake or any other of the many Finger Lkaes, you have two choices:  stay inside and wish for summer to come or get outside and enjoy yourself!

Conesus Lake has some of the greatest fishing around. Anglers enjoy catching fish such as Bluegill, Brown Bullhead, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, Pumpkinseed, Smallmouth Bass, Tiger Musky, Walleye and Yellow Perch in its waters.

Winter time offers fishermen a chance to earn some cash as well!  There are several ice fishing derbies sponsored by local Conesus Lake area businesses, that are sure to be "reel" fun!

The Hook and Spoon, located at the North End of Conesus Lake is sponsoring it's 1st annual ice fishing derby on February 10th and 11th. Ted's Tackle in Lakeville is sponsoring it's 4th annual Frostbite Derby on February 17th and 18th and The Beachcomber, located at the South End of Conesus Lake is holding its annual Derby on February 24th and 25th.
