Seneca and Cayuga Lakes are the big lakes in the heart of the Finger Lakes region and are the obvious destinations for tourists and wine enthusiasts, however the true explorer seeks many of the undiscovered gems that the Western Finger Lakes has to offer.  One of the most genuinely great fall festivals takes place September 29th-30th in beautiful Naples, NY.   The Annual Naples Grape Festival.  The village of Naples is located at the very south end of Canandaigua Lake, south of Bristol, and will be bustling with visitors enjoying great food, wine, arts & crafts, music and also The World's Greatest Grape Pie Contest.  Click here for festival information.

Even the small wineries are busy, not only with wine production, but also their own special events. Deer Run Winery on Conesus Lake is no exception.  A day trip to their 2nd Annual Harvest Fest is great event for the whole family.  This year the event will be held on Sunday, October 7th.  Grape stomping, wagon rides, face painting, and plenty food and drink highlight this family friendly event.  So many of these quaint little fall festivals, bustling farmers markets and authentic roadside/lakeside destinations are abundant this time of year.  No better time for a peaceful drive, beautiful foliage and fun in every direction.  It's the best time to explore the Finger Lake region!!
