Area Spotlight: Geneseo New York

The surrounding communities of Conesus Lake are convenient, family friendly, and beautiful.  Geneseo is a community that exemplifies this.  Geneseo sits on the middle of it all!  Located in the heart of the Genesee River Valley, Geneseo is the hub of Livingston County, New York.  The village of Geneseo is home to over 7,500 residents, while the entire town includes an additional 2,000 residents.

Geneseo is the Livingston County seat, with government offices located at the North end of the village.  It is home to the National War Plane Museum located to the west of the village in the Genesee River Valley.  Most notably Geneseo is home to Geneseo State University.  The Geneseo State University campus makes up the western half of the Village of Geneseo, from Main Street to the Genesee River Valley below.  Geneseo is truly a college town with ecclectic businesses along Main Street, stately historical homes, and a beautiful setting over looking the Genesee River Valley.

Supported by over 5,000 students and staff members, Geneseo also offers tremendous ammenties for the entire region, such as shopping, restaurants, lodging and much more.  Geneseo offers the best of both worlds.  It offers a peaceful, small town appeal, however it is loaded with ammenities not available in other rural communities.  And of course for those looking for lake living, Geneseo has that too.  The eastern part of the town makes up most of the western side of Conesus Lake, just a few miles from the Village of Geneseo.
