The NEW Conesus Inn Is Taking Shape

The Old has given way to the New

Looking to to get a bite to eat on Conesus Lake?  Good Luck!  The only option is the Beachcomber on West Lake Road in Groveland.  The Beachcomber does offer a full service restaurant, as well as a popular outside grill and cabana bar.  In previous years Conesus Lakers have been spoiled with choices that also included The Conesus Inn and The North Shore Grill.  The North Shore Grill closed it's doors this winter, however news that another Restaurant opening there was imminent.  Despite the announcement of this "big news" the doors have remain shut, no activity, and the property is still listed with a commercial Realtor.

Many rumors to what the site of the old Conesus Inn would become have circulated over the last year.  Extravagant plans for a high end steak house, banquet facility and even hotel across the street have been discussed.  Debate on whether the new restaurant would open in 2016 or 2017 has also been debated.  Clearly big things are happening.  Driving by the site, you'll see the foundation and steel girders in place for what looks to be an impressive structure in the near future.  Also across the street is excavation behind the parking lot, which could mean the hotel accommodations might also be in the works.  

It is a shame that we lost a staple on Conesus Lake when the Conesus Inn closed and subsequently demolished, but to see the activity there now certainly is exciting.  Looking forward to what the future holds with this new endeavor.
